Default How is the contract situation with Igoudala/Livingston next year?

They only kept Livingston on a player option.

Pretty sure Iggy signed a 5 year deal in 2013

Both will be free agents at the end of next year. GS will find it hard to keep one of them because Kevin Durant and Steph Curry will also be free agents next year as well.

The cap goes down to 102. That is 5 million less that GS will have to spend on those guys. Zach Lowe has already hinted at some of this.

The GS "dynasty" may be more shortlived than people think.

    BS.

18M - Klay (Under contract for 3 more years)
15M Dray (Under contract for 4 more years)
    35.7M - KD (1st of 5 year deal)
    30.6M Curry (1st of 5 yr deal)
    1M Looney
    1M McCaw
    .9 Dead money
    _______
    102M

Iggy and Livingston both have FULL bird rights so GSW can keep both no matter what they cost.

Tax line will be at ~122.2. They may cheap out and let Livingston go elsewhere but they don't even have to.

They got to sign KD because Curry was on an 11M deal. They have all pros under contract for 3 and 4 years at well below Crabbe/Evan Turner money. They will be fine.

don't think you can sign two players to 5 year deals at the same time in the year.

If course you can. You just can't do it ahead of the season. BTW, Klay and Dray already signed 5 yr deals. They will have 4 guys on 5 yr deals.

There is a little fine tuning in KDs deal as he can only get a 20% raise without dealing with a new set of issues. But I think he will have to just suck it up.

People really think losing Livingston in a year will really hurt them at all? Give me a break. They added Kevin freakin' Durant.

The Heat had less star players and a completely garbage bench and they still won two rings.

Warriors owner won't cheap out. He'll pay the tax to keep Iggy and Livingstone.

You do realize that you have only included 6 players right? They would have to add another 6 players and that isn't including Iggy and Livingston.

They have bird rights on both Iggy and Livingston. Why wouldn't they be able to sign them?

    There is one caveat.

KD will be making 26.54M this year. He can use "non-bird" rights to get a 20% raise to get to 31.5M next year. If he does that there are almost no cap issues at all. If he DEMANDS more than that GSW would need to stay under the cap. Everyone knows that's not going to happen. The compromise could be a 2 yr deal at the 20% #, the last of which would be a PO. That way he would have 3 years guaranteed (total) and GSW would have full bird rights and it would only cost him ~3.7M to keep the team intact. Its kind of a no brainer.

And ACTUALLY, it HELPS GSW that the cap might be dropping to 102. Because if it were 110-114 like people were expecting, KD would have a much bigger incentive to ask for his max. Now it doesn't cost him much to take the 20%
