I always thought Bill Cartwright's ugliness couldn't be matched, until I saw Chuck Hayes shoot a free throw. I don't know what is worse. Hayes looks like he's shooting and the ball gets stuck to his hand for a second.

Nice shout out earlier to Rick Barry's horrible underhanded granny style which he somehow made 90% of. I remember Shaq saying he could never bring himself to try shooting a FT like that because of how embarrassing it looks.

If you shoot FTs like Shaq and got fouled as much as he did, I think you ought to try anything.

Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku gave it a shot. Bumped his free throw percentage from mid-40's to upper 50's. Granted, depending upon his level of rawness coming out of high school, he may have been able to improve with his standard form, too (changed after his freshman year) but it is what it is.
