    Default Triple-doubles with 40+ points since 1985-86

In nearly 30 years, it's been done only 15 times. Not at all an easy feat considering the high number of points.

    Michael Jordan(3x)
    1/3/89(win)- 41 pts/10 reb/11 ast/6 stl on 15/30 shooting(11/15 at line)
    4/9/89(loss)- 40 pts/10 reb/12 ast/1 stl on 13/29 shooting(14/14 at line)
    4/13/89(loss)- 47 pts/11 reb/13 ast/4 stl/2 blk on 17/30 shooting(13/14 at line)

    Larry Bird(3x)
    2/14/86(win)- 47 pts/14 reb/11 ast/1 stl/2 blk on 21/34 shooting
    12/13/89(win)- 40 pts/11 reb/10 ast/1 stl/2 blk on 17/27 shooting
    3/15/92(win)- 49 pts/14 reb/12 ast/4 stl/1 blk on 19/35 shooting(9/10 at line)

    LeBron James(3x)
    4/9/05(win)- 40 pts/10 reb/10 ast/2 stl/1 blk on 15/26 shooting
    2/15/06(win)- 43 pts/12 reb/11 ast/2 stl/4 blk on 16/32 shooting(11/15 at line)
    2/18/10(loss)- 43 pts/13 reb/15 ast/2 stl/4 blk on 15/33 shooting(13/17 at line)

    David Robinson(2x)
    1/10/91(win)- 43 pts/12 reb/3 ast/4 stl/10 blk on 14/21 shooting(15/15 at line)
    11/9/93(win)- 43 pts/11 reb/1 ast/3 stl/10 blk on 14/22 shooting(15/19 at line)

    Vince Carter
    4/7/07(win)- 46 pts/16 reb/10 ast/1 stl/3 blk on 16/28 shooting

    Tracy McGrady
    2/23/03(win)- 46 pts/10 reb/13 ast/2 blk on 16/27 shooting(11/13 at line)

    Michael Adams
    1/31/91(win)- 45 pts/11 reb/12 ast/4 stl on 13/30 shooting(16/19 at line)

    Chris Webber
    12/27/95(win)- 40 pts/10 reb/10 ast/2 stl on 18/25 shooting

So to sum it up, Jordan/Bird/LeBron all did it 3x with Admiral doing it 2x(and the only to do it without 10 assists). Jordan did it twice in 4 days with LeBron doing it twice in less than a year.

Here's a list going back to the beginning of the league:

    Playoffs:

Both are incomplete, but I think we have all of the 40 point TDs. I'll check to make sure though.

How about that 42-30-10 game by Wilt in 1967, though? The list used to have him at 5 assists, then they upgraded the number to 10, but there was a total assist disparity from the official 1967 figure which now grew bigger. Is the 42-30-10 figure correct?

I'm not quite sure, I'll ask.

There are video highlights available of the game vs. Detroit when he became the NBA's all time leading scorer.

    41 points, 23 rebounds, 13 assists, 16/18 FG, 9/17 FT

    Feb 14, 1966

Chamberlain could have shattered the record long ago if he was a point-hungry basketball player. Strange as is may seem to say a man with a 39.9 point lifetime average is not point hungry, Wilt isn't.

How many points could he score? In his first four seasons, Wilt battered the baskets at 37.6 points per game, 38.4, 50.4, and 44.8. He followed with seasons of 36.9 and 34.7.

Now with a team of more offensive balance, Chamberlain spends more time setting up teammates for shots. Chamberlain has three teammates with double-figure averages: former Marshall great Hal Greer (22.9), Chet Walker (15.1), and rookie Billy Cunningham (15.0).

"The ball was going into the basket for my teammates," said Wilt, explaining why he was in no hurry to set a new career scoring total.

"That was my game plan. And since we were moving the ball well, with me feeding, we kept it up."

    Cot damn!
Two of those when he was a shell of his former self, plus that's since 1986 and he was playing since 1980.

Can only imagine what his stats would be if he cared about them and if he had more usg% and was more of a shot-jacker/ball-hog. (like other superstars in history)

Just confirmed it with the guys, 42-30-10 is indeed correct.

His best triple double stat came when he was about to retire. Pretty amazing.

David Robinson's stats are sick, he could've been a top 5 centers of all time.

He had. The league took away a rebound after 3 days with no apparent reason.
