"By trailing by 3 or less"
Why 3? Why not 4 or 5 or 6.
What was the reasons for choosing 3?
Shooting for the tie or lead? So if they were down 3 and made a 2 it doesn't count towards this?

Nice, but I find 30 seconds to be too long. So much happens during a close game, so many fouls and possessions. Would rather see 10 seconds.

Are you an idiot? How can you shoot for the lead or tie if you are down more than 3 points? This obviously is not taking into account four point plays.

"Clutch" as determined by this particular metric.
I think we may need new words for all the variations of clutch.

Joe Johnson really only boosted his percentage in his last two seasons with the Nets. I think he is like 12 of 13 in that span.

Yeah there was a graphic I saw in 2009 that had Carter as number 1 on that list since 2001 specifically, so it's weird this one doesn't even have him on.

I trust lebron a lot more now to take the last shot. The guy's developed some mental fortitude over the past few years.

Basically this. Lebron used to be hella unreliable in the clutch, but I've slowly begun to feel really comfortable when he has the ball at the end of the game

Exactly. I know he'll never be ferociously competitive like MJ/Russell/Bird. (That's purely innate and a natural proble-- er, trait). But you can definitely mentally toughen up through adversity.

It says "when trailing by 3 or less(or tied)" & "when shooting for the lead or tie"
So if you shoot a 2, while down 3, it apparently isn't being counted in this stat.. Because you aren't shooting for the lead or for the tie.

Uh... if you're currently tied it's not clutch at all really. It's a free shot. Hit it and win, miss it and go to overtime.
Flawed stat is flawed.
