Default NBA admits refs made mistake in Warriors-Mavs game

    NBA STATEMENT ON MAVERICKS-WARRIORS GAME
    Apr 2 2014 5:02PM
NEW YORK, April 2, 2014 – Rod Thorn, NBA President, Basketball Operations, issued the following statement today regarding a non-call during overtime of the Golden State Warriors’ 122-120 win over the Dallas Mavericks on April 1, at American Airlines Center:

“Upon review at the league office, we have found that a shot taken by Dallas’ Monta Ellis with 16.0 seconds remaining in overtime was on the way down when initially contacted and ruled a block by Golden State’s Jermaine O’Neal, and should have been ruled a goaltend. The exact trajectory of the ball when touched was impossible to ascertain with the naked eye, and the play was not reviewable.”
    hmm....

I love when they admit they were wrong as it means anything to the result. Basically, we can do whatever he want as long as we say "sorry".

Lettuce be a realist... Curry would have just hit a 3 instead of a 2.

****ing shitty ass refs. Did they even admit their mistake when they didn't count Wade's 3 against the Pacers?

If it was someone else against the Heat, there would've been 598730947590 threads about it as well.

Yep. The worst part about it is that this was a very big game for Dallas. Now if they miss the playoffs, this could be a big reason why

Nowitzki said. “To me, that’s a goaltend. I asked the referees what happened. The explanation was that the ball was two feet short. If that’s the case, then he can get it out of the air, but where I was from, I think it had a chance to at least hit the rim. That’s a goaltend to me.”
Anyways... Curry hit an amazing shot anyways (second time this year) and the Mavs stole one against the Wolves and K-Love a while back... but yea... this one really hurt.

Honestly how do you make a mistake like this when replay (happened in the last 2 minutes) is available? Completely unacceptable.

I'd be nerd raging if I were a Mavs fan.

the reality of this? that call cost the Mav's the game and very possibly a playoff spot

brush it off all you want to...but fact is that bad call was VERY costly to the Mavs

Them admitting mistakes doesn't mean shit because we all know we're gonna see the same official that ****ed this up (Dan Crawford) officiating in the playoffs all the way through the Finals this year, just like every other year.

Was the ball even two feet from the rim when oneal hit it? Did they think it was going to defy the laws of physics and come straight down?

I feel bad for Mavs fans but it's a bad spot to be in when your team is literally one call away from not being in the playoffs.
