I don't care how mentally tough you are, it does NOT help if you hear your best player say those things. I feel like calling out the entire team at once (including yourself) is one thing, but calling out individual players is simply not on in my opinion.

I know that if the best player on my basketball team said downright rude things to me, it wouldn't motivate me to get better to impress him, it would just make me wanna stay away from him.

I agree with him to some extent. I don't think professional athletes SHOULD be role players, but the reality is they are. It's because of this that being a professional athlete comes with responsibilities.

I can look pass the harsh comments because he is a hardcore competitor and he prob wanted to win that badly, but the backstabbing and hyprocrisy during the lockout? He was willing to throw away the entire season because his cheap ass can't run a team properly.
