Default Want a future NBA star? Trade with Minnesota draft night.

Minnesota trades Brandon Roy for Randy Foye.... Roy becomes one of the league's best all-around swingmen, Foye is predicted to win ROTY but never develops into more than adequate backup PG.

Minnesota trades OJ Mayo for Kevin Love.... Mayo has a ROTY caliber start to the season and will be at-minimum the next Arenas, while Love has an underwhelming campaign with poor shooting who's ceiling seems to be rich man's Nick Collison.

What future star will Minnesota trade for a middling NBA player next?

What do you expect? I mean honestly look at their GM. Free Al Jefferson, from this team, he is no Kevin Garnett, but is being wasted non the less.

Yeah you're right, the trade that started it all was Ray Allen for Stephon Marbury. I always thought the Love for Mayo deal was lopsided and thought Love would be a horrible compliment for Jefferson, but nobody agreed with me. I guess we're seeing whose right now.

More evidence that shows court IQ does not translate into team management IQ.

I think I speak for all Heat fans when I say thanks to Minnesota for trading Mario Chalmers to us on draft day

Actually Love has been ok so I'm being a little harsh on him but still I'm bitter by always coming out the loser on every deal we make.

Totally forgot about that one, but you're right.

And yep, Allen for Marbury started it all.
