Default Is Scottie Pippen the greatest #2 option of all-time?

In 1993 MJ led the Bulls to win 57 games but left his team in 1994 and what happened? Pippen didn't miss a beat in 1994, leading the Jordanless Bulls to 55 wins

Scottie Pippen's averages from 1991, 1992 and 1993 Finals combined:

    21 points
    9 rebounds
    7 assists
    2 steals
    1 block
    46%

    Jesus

21-9-7-2-1 on 46% for three straight Finals?...With elite defense? (lower DRtg than DPOY Jordan each series)

    Kawhi on steroids...As a #2 option. Jesus

For 3 years of production? I'd like to see better numbers if they're out there. I guess Bird was a beta for 3 Finals so maybe him but he also shat the bed badly one year.

Also consider his intangibles and impact. After all, they won 3 times too so it was not "empty stats"

    ALSO

Imagine having a lower DRtg than your prime DPOY player, every. single. Finals.

    That's impact

come on man you being a little foolish on this one. Kobe, kd or Steph depending on who you think is better, Kareem or magic depending on who you think is better. I'm probably missing a few from before my time also

Then you'd even have the likes of Wilt/West, Reed/Frazier, Hondo/Cowens, Oscar, Dr. J, McHale etc.

Yawn. Show me one guy who had more impact for three Finals like Pip did.

21-9-7-2-1 on 46% for three straight Finals?...With elite defense? (lower DRtg than DPOY Jordan each series)

    Kawhi on steroids...As a #2 option. Jesus

I'll wait...Find me better. Post it up, thank you.

pippen is up there, no doubt.

I can't even imagine how much of a blessing it is to play with the best perimeter defender who is also a selfless playmaker. must be an unreal privilege playing with that guy.

Magic was not a 2nd option Not even for 2 Finals let alone 3. Unless you're counting when they lost?

And Curry was 2nd option for 2 of them ('17 and '18) so maybe after this year we can add him to the list

But don't forget about defense, Pippen was playing at a higher level than DPOY Jordan
