D'Antoni Made Steve Nash
Nash would be considered a scrub if he never played for D'Antoni. Look at what D'antoni is doing for James Harden and even what he did for Jeremy Lin. Kobe would have 3 mvps if it wasnt for D'antoni.

Dude has one pity MVP. He wasn't winning an MVP in '06 and '05, even if Nash lost. Dude didn't even get a single vote in '05 and was 4th in '06.

Re: D'Antoni Made Steve Nash
Kobe was the best basketball player in the world from '06 - '08. I don't see how anyone without an agenda couldn't see that. Also, Nash was still an all star in Dallas before going to Phoenix.

Kobe was not better than Wade in 06 or 07. Wade actually played defense in 06 and was the best player in the world in the 07 season before he got hurt.

Re: D'Antoni Made Steve Nash
these are probably just typical cases of coaches running an offense that can only be utilized at the professional level instead of the collegiate level
or you can say, at the professional level, a team get to choose what type of style the player they choose, where as with the collegiate level, it's just not a sustainable practice.

Re: D'Antoni Made Steve Nash
It can't be argued that D'Antoni ran the perfect system for Nash to create plays for others.. I mean, James Harden is averaging 13 dimes per game throughout his first 8 games under D'Antoni.
However, there are A LOT of other factors that contributed to Nash's succes.
He had unique court vision and was an extremely intelligent player and great shooter. Nash worked hard on his improvement through the years.
Rule changes gave Nash more space to operate than he had before with the Mavs (when he was already a solid player):

Let's see if J-Hard can get to the 60+ win mark. Steven did it twice under The Pringles Man.

Re: D'Antoni Made Steve Nash
As far as roster comparisons, Steve's teams were obviously more yoked out. Amare, Marion, Barbosa, Diaw, Bell.
Even Joe Johnson in that first season.
Harden's got some talent. But doesn't have that high end talent like Amare. Ironically he did with Dwight.

Wade wasn't as good of a defender as Kobe, and wasn't carrying the same level of offensive burden. Or playing in even close to as difficult of a conference.
Kobe was the best player in 2006.
Wade in 2007, before his shoulder dislocation in Houston, I'd agree was the best player in the league that season.
But Kobe also didn't round into his better form until like January. Due to the weight gain, slow start of knee surgery. So Wade flamed out, and the best player was Bryant for the regular season. Clearly. As LeBron also suffered a decline in production.
2007, in total, with playoffs
1) Duncan
2) LeBron
3) Kobe
2007, in regular season
1) Kobe
2) Wade
3) Dirk
Both Wade, and Dirk were on the best teams in their conference. Both played in the previous years Finals. And both underperformed significantly in the playoffs ... both getting the boot in the 1st round.
Dirk even more embarrassing because he won a fraudulent MVP. Played like ass, with a 67 win team, and lost to an 8th seed.
