Default This era takes SKILL, not doofus WWE goons

I saw this posted online in reference to a post that mentioned how "11 different players scored 50 or more points this season, and NBA high" and some old school fans cried about defense:

I don’t understand the point in that context

If people are looking to score inside, what are players doing now that’s so skillful that they weren’t years ago? There really aren’t that many options

The 90's toughness is overrated. Old heads wanna act like you get a clothesline every time you take it to the paint, that's silly

It wasn't as bad as they make out but I think it was a lot tougher back then

Buddy Hield talking about the elite defenses of today:

"People are like, 'I don't know why the **** they leave him open so much,'" Hield says. "I just run harder than everybody. Everybody don't want to run, bro. I don't care what nobody says. Nobody wanna run after you. That's how it is."

Don't get so triggered baby boy, don't recall where I made the comparison OR stated today is tougher? Y'all love to deflect.

Old heads do be pretending like Jordan caught spinebusters every drive, which has been debunked by my guy sportstalkjoe

We had better finishing moves in the 90s.

Only lil fucc bois who never saw Jordan play try to claim that others said he got fouled on every drive. No one ever said that. What was said to trigger said little fucc bois is that defenders got away with more fouling back then. This upsets those who never saw MJ because they have to live with the fact that LeBron had it easier due to less physical defense being played.

What's your point exactly? Of course it's harder to play defence now. The rule changes have made it nearly impossible to stop anyone. That's the whole point when people say defence in this era is Terrible. It's not that guys can't play defence or don't try to play defence it's that it's harder to play defence because of the rule changes. I don't think anyone is arguing this.

is that why ratings have plummeted in the NBA?

because it's soooo much more skilled?

Unskilled players like Joe Ingles and Joe Harris play in the NBA today.

And get paid like LeVeon Bell.

No skill needed now. Just be tall and be able to shoot from 25 ft.

There always have been guys like this in the NBA, but in the 90s they played 3mpg and took 1 shot every 4 games.
