his "no look" passes are a joke, he eyeballs the player he's passing to, passes, then flicks his head to look back at no one in particular up the other end of the court.

What you are talking about there is a lookaway pass, not a no look (you are confusing the two), the lookaway is like a simple pass with some "flair" (looking away) added to it... which Lebron has alot of. Then there is the legit no look pass, where you literally never lay your eyes on the teammate you are gona pass to, which Lebron has 1000s assists of aswell...

Commentators always mixed them up though, one of my pet peeves when watching basketball actually.

Lebron HAS to "playmake". What else is he going to do? Off ball scorer like mj, kobe, kawhi, durant and every other player of his size? He can't, no skills and much lower efficiency on paper.
Those guys i mentioned can playmake too btw.
