I think that's the main reason the Lakers didn't show Artest the door yet...Dallas was under the cap and could have placed a bid for Artest.

The Lakers front office is smart I'll give them that...

Or that the refs won 520k.

No. He was traded to the Clippers for Danny Manning.

I don't think any team will... 58-60 I think will be the top records this year.

Lebron's Cavs won 66 games a few years ago. Winning 70+ games is completely realistic, its just that I don't see any team in the league currently that can be that focused and determined to keep up that kind of success.

I agree. He's been terrible the last 2 seasons, and need to steps it back up to when he first came to the Lakers, or get rid of him for real.

from all reports, MWP is in the best shape he's been in, in years. He was actually healthy this off-season allowing him to train hard, lose weight and get ready for the season. His defense should be stellar this year. Really looking forward to watching that aspect of this Lakers team, with MWP back in form and DH in the middle.

As far as going for the record, why not. go for it. win every game you can all the way through to the end. Set goals and go for them. They have a legit shot at chasing 70 wins. They have a lot of veteran players, who know how to perform on a nightly basis. They now have a strong bench.... on paper. DH and Nash have to be really hungry to get a ring, this is the best situation they've ever been in with a chance to do so. It should be a fun season.

Obviously the only thing that maters is winning the chip, but why not set a record along the way.
