I don't even see the point of discussing basketball if you're too lazy to add context.

Then don't respond to the thread, f*ggot.

Context is completely subjective. I'm not gonna waste my time adding it because most everyone (depending on their Stan allegiance) will chose to see it whatever way fits their agenda.

This list is disingenuous, saying these players played with "MVP's" when they were MVP's years beforehand is just silly. I think a much better method would be to count what their teammates accumulated while they were actually playing with them

That would be disingenuous as well, we know dam well that some players make the all star game(especially in the east)/all NBA based on reputation not merit.

We should look at said support casts of all time greats' performance in the playoffs while playing with the ATG in question

People will actually acknowledge context if evidence is bright forth. They won't enter another thread with it in mind if they don't like it, but for a particular thread, it could actually work.

Still, carry on. Play your role. LeBron played with a prime Shaq in '10, Shaq played with prime Payton in '04, and whatever else misleading garbage posted.

    That's why I wouldn't count all-star appearances, I'd use MVP's, DPOY's, All-NBA Team's, All Defensive Team's, and MVP top 10 finishes

the final tallies are stupid and misleading. According to that tony Parker = Kareem and one season/no playoffs of Kevin love = 5 years of pau gasol.

And Duncan playing with Aldridge counts the same as any other all star?

    Obviously there's many others..

And Kobe played with prime Malone, Payton, Richmond and Nash, right? And for multiple years?

BTW, Shaq had been an ALLSTAR the season before he got to the Cavs (putting up 18 PPG, and 8 REBs on 61% FG, so it ain't that insane to count him as legit help for LeBron...) Not my fault that LeBron castrated him like he does to all his allstar bigman teammates...

This makes kobe's supporting cast look better than magic's or Bird's

Why do we need to look at those? Those are just media things that are sometimes carelessly handed out. Voters may be biased, impartial, have an agenda, or are just outright not fit to be voters. Numbers do not lie.

In fact, some author for fivethirtyeight has already done this for us: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/w...porting-casts/

How about never even played one NBA minute with Duncan?

Well, Shaq played with Steve Nash. A dominant, and extremely effective offensive player. Nash also helped Amare Stoudemire(who regressed when he went to the Knicks) have some insanely productive seasons, and gortat had his best career season with Nash.

Shaq, all old and washed up turning into an all-star with Phoenix says more about Nash than LeBron, or even Shaq himself.
