Default Wade's "travel", this is not a travel. *UPDATE Former refs agree not a travel*

*UPDATE FORMER REFEREE STEVE JAVIE AGREES NOT A TRAVEL

Wade is allowed two steps after collecting the ball.... but they called it a travel. What a disgrace the NBA makes the rigging so blatant.

What's worse, Shane Battier made the 3point shot.

Wade is allowed TWO steps after collecting the ball. It doesn't matter if his step back move is slower than you are used to. The NBA Rules do not say anything about how long you can take between each step. It only mentions your feet touching the ground. So your 1st foot touching the ground = 1st step, and then the second step occurs when your next foot touches the ground after the 1st one. It says nothing about "if you take too long, you travel"... Wade collected his body and went backwards into his step back as many other players do.

    Such as James Harden

    --------------
    NBA RULES

    Section XIV-Traveling
    a. A player who receives the ball while standing still may pivot, using either foot as the pivot foot.
    b. A player who receives the ball while he is progressing or upon completion of a dribble, may use a two-count rhythm in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball.
    The first count occurs:
    (1) As he receives the ball, if either foot is touching the floor at the time he receives it.
    (2) As the foot touches the floor, or as both feet touch the floor simultane- ously after he receives the ball, if both feet are off the floor when he receives it.
    The second occurs:
    (1) After the count of one when either foot touches the floor, or both feet touch the floor simultaneously.

What would Heat fans know about a travel? They've never seen one called in their lives..

Also look at the score. As if it mattered

    that is a travel....

    actually i dont know.

yeah, i think if you taking a step back its gotta be immediate. you can't just pause.

you can't just take two steps after collecting the ball. i think that only applies for layups and dunks.

I hear that if you whine enough, Stern will award the win to Miami. So keep it up

He had a hitch in his step back. It was clearly a travel.

Here, this will help you see it. Picture him pulling up for a step back jump shot. Right out of his dribble, imagine that he is about to pull up for a jumper.

It will help you to see the hitch easier. He hesitates and steps back even further behind the 3 point line.

    That's a travel.

I think if he did that move really fast, he could have fooled the refs but he was too slow and refs could easily see that it was a travel.

this. wade dribbled and stepped into the shot with his right foot (pivot), then stepped back on his left foot then moved his right foot. it was obvious travel...

The hitch you speak of is due to slow motion of the gif. It wasn't that slow.

It's a travel because for step backs like that, you have to land with both feet at the same time, not left-right like Wade did.

He would have missed that shot anyway, he should have taken the open three or continued driving to the net after the shot fake.
