Default Josh McDaniels to remain with the Patriots

I thought him going to the Colts was a sure thing?

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...gland-patriots

Gotta wonder if Kraft privately promised McDaniels a HC job in NE once Belichick is gone.

What Iím guessing is

1. McDaniels realized how big of a dumpster fire that organization is

2. How bad Luck injury might actually be

3. Belichick is on his way out and he will be the successor

You guys had one of the greatest QB ever and aside from putting an offense in front of him you constantly failed to give him a good defense, Denver did that in the couple season they had him

Luck is literally throwing out there to sandbags with Ty Hilton and his defense sucks. You guys keep around bad GM and coaches for years

Admit it, the Colts FO has been garbage for a while

We've had two losing seasons in like 20 years. Both without our starting qb for the entire seasons

Had three head coaches the last almost 15 years.

Three GM's in 20 years, currently have one of best young gm in NFL.

Went from Manning to Luck.

Dumpster fire is cleveland. Aside from Steelers and a couple others, were as stable a franchise as there is.

- You guys haven't had a winning season in 3 years
- Defense has been consistently bad for 20 years

The only reason why the Colts have been relevant is because they got incredibly lucky with Manning & Luck, the two very best QB prospects out of college in the last 35 years. It wouldn't take a genius to take those two guys with the #1 pick. Just look how bad the Colts were when Manning didn't play in 2011 and this past season without Luck.

You don't have any arguments from me regarding the defense through the years but at the end of the day our team can't be considered a dumpster fire because we drafted two QBs like that. It wasn't cut and dry to take Manning , Leaf was a real possibility. We chose the right guy.

Unless Luck is for sure damaged beyond repair the job should be the best on the market. A top QB JUST entering his prime, third overall pick + some of the most cap space in league + loyal owner + great gm .

Its why we got the consensus best candidate until he decided to stay in new england, one.of the few more stable.franchises than us.

I don't disagree with any of the points you laid out above... but that Colts job looking like one of the worst ones in the NFL unless there are any assurances about Luck's health moving forward.

They're looking up at every other team in that division.

This was probably a good move for Josh and the Colts.

i would bet the farm that this situation had nothing to do with the colts being a dumpster fire (which they are), but was really about kraft retaliating against irsay for deflategate.

That's a possibility. The biggest issue here though is what's going on with the Patriots themselves. They had a pretty good year and then they went down in flames in the SB and now we see that Brady and Belichick are on opposite sides. Not only did Belichick bench their best CB but he didn't play him a single defensive snap after the man played every defensive possession in the Playoffs and 98% of the snaps in the RS, Brady and basically the entire team came out in Butler's defense.

This looks bad, I don't think the organization is very high on Bill and neither are the players, Josh probably knows that he has a good chance of being the next Pats' HC going into this coming season.

What a douche bag move on McDaniels. No way hes getting another job in NFL after bailing out on the Colts. Looks like Kraft promised him BB's job when BB leave NE.

Scum franchise from top to bottom. Hope BB leaves them, they don't deserve him.
