The Lakers should release Kobe with the stretch provision
If they waive Kobe using the stretch provision then they would spread his 25 million dollar salary over three years lowering his cap number to 8.3 million. This would allow them to sign both LMA and DJ. Sign Pierce to a one year deal with the remaining cap space.
Russell/?
Clarkson/Brown
Pierce/Nance Jr
LMA/Randle
Jordan/Black
Kobe(salary cap rapist) probably doesn't even want to play anymore. In this scenario he would still get paid. With the salary cap rising the Lakers would still have one more max spot for Durant in 2016.

No they shouldn't. Let the contract end and be done with it. It's specifically designed to end when Durant is a free agent. Don't **** with the plan at the last lap of the race.

Too little too late
Kobe already destroyed the Lakers future for the next decade at least
If Kobe retired in 2013 after the Achilles like a good little boy
-Lakers still have Dwight
- they get Melo in 2014 (Melo would agree as he would have his own team)
Dwight
Randle
Melo
Clark
Russell
Incoming championship this year
Kobe f*cked everything up

^^ so we would have gotten Dwight and Melo AND Russell/Randle..
so we'd be in the lottery two years in a row with Dwight/Melo??

What if both LMA and DJ agree to sign? The Lakers would still have enough money for Durant in 2016. They could waive Kobe after getting verbal commitments from both players.

I love how Laker haters are always trying to help the team with these scenarios that somehow all involve getting rid of Kobe. Remember all those "should Kobe be amnestied?????" threads from awhile back?

How to they get the draft picks to select Russell and Randle with Pau, Howard, and Melo on the team? Clarkson was bought so ill let that slide.

They got Russell for that bro. Dude will bring showtime back. This is similar to the Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck situation. Not exactly. But kind of.

We aren't winning a championship regardless with both those guys. I'd rather Kobe retire a Laker and go off into the sunset. Kobe on his last year is still worth more to the Lakers brand than LA and Jordan combined. Ticket sales, jerseys, butts in the seats to see Kobe one final time. It's a business and you want what's best for business all the while still being somewhat competitive.

No way Kobe doesn't get some type of coaching/front office job right after he retires. Stay mad haters. His drive to win is coaching-dedication type of level.

Wow Kobe ruined the Lakers chances of spending all their cap room on two guys who play half the season.
We are doomed.
