Default LeBron Ball will be put to the test with Kyrie being out until January

If Kevin Love's stats do not increase to his Minnesota days, than we can conclude that Lebron Ball (and not Kyrie) is to blame for the decline.

lebron has nothing to prove in the regular season but this will force irving and him to shoulder more of the load

if he cant deliver deep in the playoffs as long as his team is healthy he will get criticized and will deserve it

If LeBron manages to keep his team within a HCA-seed neighborhood (for playoff-seeding), it'll be hard to conceive the media voting for any MVP other than him; it's sad to say. :/

Also, we don't need to see the Irving-less courtplay to lend substance to that theory; LeBron's astronomical usage rate compared to the rest of the team should be indicative of who is more attributable to Kevin Love's decline. :P

Too uphill for Kevin Love to register his superstar-level stats whenever there is a player as ball-dominant as LeBron--even with his predisposed playmaking, superstars have less touches to create their own shots--and no systematic direction on offense, due to LeBron emasculating Blatt's authority.

    5th MVP here we come.

Both Love and Lebron would be all stars. Thank God they signed Mo Williams who became an NBA All star when he played with LeBron, and very familiar with LeBron Ball.

We just need a healthy Irving in the playoffs and finals.

Winning MVP is also important. When Lebron won his last 2 MVP's. He also won an NBA title.

I just don't want to see a 24 ppg scorer like Curry winning this award because he had a good team record. Cavs even without Irving are still stack. They might finally convince Thompson to resign with them because they need to add another scorer.

    good record is everything

i dont rate lebron highly since i dont like this era but thats why hes better than some other gunners

if you can make your team win you have to reward that

you shouldnt let who wins mvp bother you it messes up a lot but if you watch you know who the best player is each year

Still too early to be a foregone conclusion.

How well will a healthy, resurgently motivated Kevin Durant lead his team under a (hopefully effectual) coaching upgrade in Billy Donovan? The exponentially blooming Anthony Davis under Alvin Gentry?

Those are who I'm reputing as the two best players--unless LeBron has a bounce-back season; you can't ignore how his efficiency and defense have declined, despite how vaunted he was for his all-around play in the finals--in the NBA moving into this season.

Team records may be the X-Factor here and thus LeBron may still get over the hump due to his conference; but unless LeBron has the bounce-back season that I've hypothized, it'll take more than a superlative level of play for him to take home his fifth MVP, as he no longer has that level of play--whether the media and fanbase are fast to espouse it or not.
