Is that really the argument from some of you guys? "Others have probably said worse?"
Fellas you'd be learn one thing. You're responsible for yourself.
His convo was leaked and it hurt the nba on a business level. They want him gone.
It's irrelevant what others are doing or what he was like in the past. He messed up again and they want him gone.
You get caught you can't go around outing everyone else. YOU were caught.
This is a business decision and he's bad for business.

reported for racism

Re: sterling suing EVERYBODY
Does the NBA have to do business with him? If he wants to own the team fine

Sterling was a known racist before and the NBA did let him get away with it, he just got caught with his pants down too far this time.
If Tiger Woods cheated on his wife .... fine, no big deal, every pro athlete probably cheats on his wife, blah, blah, blah. But he banged half the porn industry and his neighbor's daughter, etc. etc. etc. that's where he crossed the line into "full retard" territory. Never go full retard.
At some point you cross the threshold from PR hit to PR f*cking debacle. And there's a price to pay when that happens when you are in a position where your public image matters.
No but I think 100's of players have made racist or homophobic comments at one point or another. Whether it be black dudes dropping the N-bomb, or white dudes cracking gay jokes in the locker room...
And that's all that needs to be proven. It doesn't matter who it was or when it was, it just needs to be shown that other people have done it too and weren't punished.

What's comedy is since Sterling bought the team for the first time in their history they had become relevant, a team to watch and one the fans could embrace and now Sterling is willingly/knowingly going to tear the team apart and turn it back into an afterthought on the national sports scene.
Sponsors have said they'd leave and have already
Front office people have already left
A head coach threatening to leave and if Rivers goes players will demand out too
Sterling doesn't care about the Clippers as an organization or the fans, he cares about being known as the Clippers owner everything else is just an afterthought with him

Players and owners are not the same.
And let's be honest the examples you used wouldnt get an owner removed either...

If Mark Cuban said Sprite tasted like doo doo water and he would never sell it in his arena, to which Sprite then pulled its sponsorship, does that give the right of the other owners to expel him for losing sponsors?
Hypothetical question, but at the same time, serious. I'm curious as to where you draw the line.

Right. Which is why the owner of the Colts can be arrested for DUI with a shit ton of prescription pills in his car and nobody says a word, but Josh Gordon can smoke weed and be suspended for a year.
But I am not talking solely about players. I'm willing to bet 80% of the owners in the NBA have made some sort of disparaging remark about another race or ethnicity, be it in casual conversation, or even a joke. Sterling just needs to find evidence and present it, and then the league is put into a sticky situation.

The irony here is that he is the only people he is suing is his wife and himself.
The NBA A) didn't end up doing anything outside of fining him 2.5M and ban him from coming to their games. They never even took the vote to force Sterling to divest. Most importantly, B) they were indemnified against any lawsuits by the Sterling Family Trust. Which means even if they somehow get a lousy ruling Sterling is going to get the check from... HIMSELF.

Very good NBA starter

Game. Set. Match.
Re: sterling suing EVERYBODY
At the end of the day, if all the other owners vote him out, I don't think he really has a choice.
I do think it's BS that he's losing his business because of illegally recorded, private conversations... but at the same time, Sterling never did shit for this franchise, and to be honest, he doesn't even deserve to own it now that it's successful.
In other words, karma is a bytch.

Who is this nobody of which you speak?
He will be hard pressed to find one. Sterling's problem is that his history shows he cant clam he made a mistake or apologize like other people usually do. Once you've been outed as a clear cut racist with no debate what so ever nobody is going to want to associate with you. And nobody does. Everyone else can apologize and get a slap on the wrist.

Once the recorded word becomes public from a different party, the NBA has full right to protect it's brand. The only parties that Sterling can win a lawsuit over are V and TMZ.
