Default My Top 5 Teams In NBA History

    1. 1986 Boston Celtics

They had the best player in the NBA at that time in Larry Bird who was at the height of his career, McHale who was one of the most unguardable players in NBA History. Parish was an All-Star center, Ainge was very reliable, D.J. who is considered to be one of the greatest defensive guards in NBA History and Bill Walton was the NBA's top sixth man, and he was healthy for virtually the entire season. That team could play defense, they could rebound, they could run and score on the fast break, and they had the greatest half court offense in NBA History. They were completely unselfish on offense and moved the ball as well as any team I have ever watched. And as Bill Walton said, if things bogged down, you could just kick it out to Larry and he would hit a 3. This team virtually had no weaknesses.

    2. 1987 Los Angeles Lakers

After their crushing defeat to the Rockets in the 1986 WCF, the Lakers recharged and made some changes. They inserted A.C. Green into the starting line-up, got rid of Maurice Lucas, and they changed their offense and gave Magic more responsibility. Magic Johnson and James Worthy were both in their absolute prime. Kareem was still an All-Star Center. Michael Cooper won DPOY and the lakers traded for Mychal Thompson, a reliable back up for Kareem.

    3. 1996 Chicago Bulls

This was Michael Jordan's first full year back from retirement and during the off season. Chicago required Dennis Rodman during the off season. This was one of the greatest defensive teams in NBA History. 3 of the Bulls starters made the All-Defensive First Team. They dominated the league winning an NBA record 72 games. They also had Toni Kukoc who won 6MOY.

    4. 1967 Philadelphia Sixers

This team featured a prime Wilt Chamberlain who sacrificed his scoring for his team. The team was stacked and they had size. They had Luke Jackson as the PF who would have been Center for any other team. They won an NBA record at that time 68 games and they finally got passed the Celtics beating them in 5 games. They also had Hall of Famer Bill Cunningham coming off the bench and hall of fame guard Hal Greer.

    5. 1972 Los Angeles Lakers

Team featured Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, & Gail Goodrich. They won an NBA record 33 games in a row. And beat the New York Knicks in the Finals in 5 games.

    Honorable Mentions
    1983 Philadelphia Sixers
    1992 Chicago Bulls
    1989 Detroit Pistons

The 87 Lakers win more GOAT team polls than any other team by far. How can you be a poster named "1987_Lakers" and have the Celts at #1?

1987 Lakers are my favorite team in NBA history, but the '86 Celtics were better. I'm not bias.

No one can accuse you of bias tho because the 87 Lakers are considered the GOAT more than any other team. So why would you have the hated rival Celts at #1? Are you an American?

It's hard to call the '96 Bulls the greatest team in NBA history when they were the only GREAT team that season. They didn't have to compete with a team that was on the level of those Lakers/Celtics teams.

And the '86 Celtics lost only one home game all season, including the playoffs. I'd say this is pretty good.

This is funny coming from you. Let's look at the anti 80's / bias things you've said...

    - "I would take Rodman over Kevin McHale"
    - "Scottie Pippen was on the same level as Larry Bird"
    - "Kevin McHale is overrated"
    - "Robert Parish is overrated"
    - "Kevin McHale is Rasheed Wallace with no range"
    - "MJ was more dominant than Wilt Chamberlain"
    - "90's Bulls had equal amount of fire power than the 80's Lakers"
    - "James Worthy is equal to Shawn Marion"
    - "Pau Gasol is better than Kevin McHale"

    2001 Lakers
    1996 Bulls
    2004 Pistons
    2008 Celtics
    1999 Spurs

Talk about overrated. 80s celtics were a joke,

    Ainge -JJ. Reddick
Bird-Dirk (shorter with uglier form, better passer)
    Mchale- David Lee/Mark Madsen

3 White players on starting 5 in NBA today? They would get killed today.
