Re: What young point guard would you build around?
This is a really tough group to rate, obviously any team would be willing to try and build around any one of these guys.
There is pros and cons to all of them, but if I had to pick one it would probably be Lillard right now, could be Wall if he shakes off last years post-season and keeps improving.
Curry is an elite shooter and runs the point very well, but I don't see him being a guy who will lead or carry a team over the long haul. And despite his recent healthly stretch, those glass ankles still scare me.
Kyrie has battled nagging injuries and really hasn't developed consistency despite having a very high ceiling. He could have been a consideration once I saw more of him with a stable cast and being healthy, but now with LBJ in town, I don't see him reaching for that ceiling.

The go-to-guy
Re: What young point guard would you build around?
Lillard/Wall.
I've always felt that Lillard is what everyone expected Wall to be after he was initially drafted. Now after a couple of seasons, Wall knows when exactly to use his speed and when to keep it slower. Lillard has been doing that all along. I like Lillard a little more for his commitment to succeed.

This is why I would choose Lillard as well. I followed the Blazers last year and the kid would hit big shots and barely celebrate, but if one of his teammates dove and saved a ball from going out of bounds or got an offensive tip-in he'd be right there to celebrate with them. He seems to care about the right things.

What can I do for you?
Re: What young point guard would you build around?
Out of that list, I would take Curry without hesitating. He is far ahead of Wall, Irving, or Lillard.
To those who say Dragic: he's a terrific player, and IMO the fifth best guard in the league right now (after Paul, Curry, Westbrook, and Harden), but the fact that he turns 29 next season really puts a damper on his potential as a building block. But who knows? There's a chance that he ages extremely well, like his mentor Nash, who had his peak season at age 32 and continued playing like an All-Star until age 38.
Also, I think Lillard is the most overrated guard in the league. What exactly has this kid done to warrant all of the praise he's been getting? Don't get me wrong, I like him, and he's clutch, but he's a clear tier below the previous five guys I mentioned.

John Wall. He's by far the best defensive player of this group and has just as much upside as anyone here offensively.
