Default Wilt is the only player to lose two times when his team was up 3-1 in the playoffs

Boston Celtics over Philadelphia 76ers, 1968

During the ’60s, the Boston Celtics were accustomed to competing for NBA championships, as the franchise won an unprecedented nine titles during the decade. With the legendary Bill Russell at the coaching helm in 1968, it didn’t appear that the Celtics would add to that total when they were down 3-1 to the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

This Phillies team included the likes of Hal Greer and Wilt Chamberlain. However, Russell (who not only coached, but also played back then), John Havlicek, and company rolled in Game 5 before outlasting the 76ers in Games 6 and 7 — the latter game occurred in Philadelphia — to become the first team to overcome the 3-1 deficit. Of course, Boston went on to win yet another title that season.

Los Angeles Lakers over Phoenix Suns, 1970

In NBA history, not many teams were as loaded as the Los Angeles Lakers of 1970. With three NBA legends on hand (Jerry West, Chamberlain, and Elgin Baylor), they were incredibly difficult to deal with. The Phoenix Suns though, with the likes of Paul Silas and Connie Hawkins, had the Lakers on the ropes in the first round of the NBA playoffs that season, winning three of the first four games of their series.

However, that 3-1 deficit only seemed to make LA more dangerous, as great performances by West and Chamberlain led the Lakers to three straight routs and a series win in seven games. Unfortunately, LA fell short in the Finals that season.

    Beat me to it.

BTW, in game seven... 30 points, 27 rebounds, 11 blocks. All less than four months after major knee surgery.

    Regarding '68 EDF's...

Wilt and his team were decimated by injuries. Incidently, Curry is getting excuses for playing poorly in all but about 10 minutes of this post-season, because of a mild knee sprain that normally takes 1-2 weeks to heal. BTW, Curry took over 2 weeks off.

Chamberlain PLAYED 48 mpg in a seven game EDF's with a TEAR in his calf muscle, which normally requires walking on crutches for a period of time, and then 4-6 weeks of recovery.

Oh, and he averaged 22 ppg, 25 rpg, and 7 apg in that series.

It was a MIRACLE that he not only played, but that he was still a force.

They didn't lose in 1970 so it doesn't count. Otherwise you might as well add Dr. J & the Sixers for 1981 and 1982 against the Celtics. In 1981 they blew a 3-1 lead and lost the series in 7, in 1982 they also had a 3-1 lead and it again to a 7th game in Boston, but the Sixers won this time.

Or put Danny Ainge because he was on the 1995 Suns (blew a 3-1 lead and lost to the Rockets in 7 with Home Court Advantage) and was on the 1987 Celtics that had a 3-1 lead against Milwaukee, lost the next 2, but won game 7.

A.C. Green was on the 1993 Lakers that had a 2-0 lead against the Suns in the first round (when it was best of 5) and lost in 5, and also on that 1995 Suns team that blew a 3-1 lead and lost in 7 in the WCSF.

Shawn Kemp was on the 1994 Sonics that blew a 2-0 lead in a best of 5 series (lost to Denver), and on the 2003 Magic that blew a 3-1 lead (lost to Detroit).
