Do people honestly believe that Kobe is clutch?

as a kobe fan. i would say he doesn't have the best stats in the clutch, but outside of jordan i would not take anyone else. IMO taking the clutch shot with 10secs or less in a close game is a psychological thing that transcends any other part of the game. Any amount of hesitation or doubt IMO is very detrimental to taking the clutch shot, and because of that there are only a few players i would compare to jordan and kobe. they can take the shot without thinking about any other possibilities outside of making it and winning the game. that mindset is the best for taking a clutch shot with or without the great stats. Lebron is great in the clutch and his stats prove it, but he is the type of player that always finds the best possible shot whether it's him or someone else taking it. this mentality is a great thing to have too.

Honestly, I think Durant is better than either.

I feel that durant is more "clutch" because he can get a good look over anyone. Kobe is as good as anyone ever at making tough contested shots but it's not the same thing

He definitely is. Those who watched him since his rookie season have seen it over and over again. He never falters under pressure. I don't even recall him choking at the FT line. I'm sure he missed a few here and there, but in terms of pure choking that most superstars have on their resumes, I cannot think of an important game that he choked away at the free throw line.

Its the fact that he works so hard on his jumpshot. When you can make every shot in practice naturally you are going to be confident in your abilities when game time rolls around

Of course someone who they go with in the 4th quarter over a seventeen year career is going to end up missing more clutch shots than they make. There are very few players who wouldn't and that's what makes those guys extraordinary. These games are just from last season:

And please, let's not go into "Well the team should have won those games in the first place " or "but these aren't playoff games". The topic is about coming up clutch and he's made shots like that throughout his career. You can argue HOW clutch he is when it matters and that's fine...but you can't argue that he has been clutch before and those two videos are proof of that.
