Re: John Wall 2010 #1 Pick
Since I'm scouting guru around here, let me offer my thoughts:
From the little I've seen from him, what jumps out most l, beyond his NBA-ready physical tools, is his awareness and great inbetween dribble and finishing skill.
But his awarness is off the chain. Dude seems to know whats going on at all times.
But cmon, dude will never be top-5 of any alltime list. Dude's passing seems to be average, or at the least, not exceptional. He'll be a Dwyane Wade type player but thats it.

And how is that bad?
Wade is a top 50 player of all time already and has a Championship already.
If Wall will be as good as Wade that will be considered a fantastic career.

Exactly. Who said he's going to be top 5 all time. Omg are you 6 years old?
From this thread I get worst case Steve Francis, best case DWade. From what I've seen he looks great so far... how is his jump shot? 3pt?

Don't know, but has the first step quickness that puts Derrick Rose to shame.

If you have the worse record in the league you just have the greater chance of getting #1 pick, but its a lottery so you never know any of the bottom 14 teams has a shot at him. Wall is legit PG that means you guys going to have to trade Harris.

Re: John Wall 2010 #1 Pick
He is very impressive in college, I'll give him that. His drives and plays are very Wade-like, in fact his whole game is, and he's exceptionally quick & athletic.
But obviously he's not played an NBA game yet. These guys are much bigger, stronger and defensively capable, and I worry if his game will translate well into the NBA. He might keep getting hammered in the post, not getting to the free throw line and then making bad decisons about when to drive, jump or pass. The potential is there, its just whether he's smart enough to achieve it.
Worst case: Russell Westbrook
Best case: Dwyane Wade (+2 APG, - 5PPG)

Could they play Harris / Wall in the backcourt? Is that possible? Wall is 6'4, not a huge but not that undersized to play SG either. A playmaking backcourt is not necessarily a bad thing.
If not, assuming this happens, the Nets could get someone good in the front court for Harris.
