Not a chance in hell he would. The guy has only had one great season and two good (all star level) seasons. He isn't close to be deserving of the hall.

Then it comes down to opinion...

True indeed, I'm of the opinion that every player who has ever played in the NBA should get it, they all work so hard and try to do well, why should people be excluded this hurts people's feelings and is not fair.

People wouldn't even talk about him really. He hasn't even made the finals.

Kobe was a champion the year before in one of his most dominant playoff performances. Unless he got shot, he was still in his prime.

Lebron, stop giving excuses guy and man up to what you say. Rose played significantly better than Lebron in fourth quarters and against better teams than Lebron did. Lebron was in his prime and had a worse record than Rose did despite Rose team having a ton of key injuries, less talented players and Rose lead a new young team in great fashion. In general, new teams suffered greatly at this time.
The bit about Duncan(?) making the Finals means nothing, tbh...
Duncan will get credit for winning 5 rings. It only means nothing if he gets credit for winning 4. In fact, after 2011, its the only time his team has come really close to a two peat. His best team two year run was yet to come when Rose won.

The only reason he has a shot is that the selection criteria for the basketball HoF is weak relative to other professional sports. Maurice Stokes got in with a 3 year career but that was a very special circumstance (and it still took almost 50 years after the end of his career for him to be inducted).

Shortest non-basketball career I found was a football player who made it to the HoF after 6 years, but he didn't get in until 30 years after his career ended.

I still don't think he'd be a deserving hall of famer, and there's no chance he'd make it if he played another professional sport, but the weakness of the basketball HoF might be enough for him to slip in.

It is hard to see. It depends on what level he plays out for the remainder of his career. He already has a MVP, ROY, and 3 all-star appearances on his resume. If he can put together, say, 2 more all-star seasons and have several other solid seasons he likely will get in. If he never makes another all-star game then he likely will not.

if he retired today? hell ****ing no lmao. he won a fraud, fluke ass mvp and that's it. only thing he's done in the nba were some flashy highlight plays, that's pretty much his career in a nut shell.

He might get voted in out of pity. I don't think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame though.

I wouldn't vote for him but the basketball HOF is so weak that he might get in.
MVP - worst MVP in NBA history.

two FIBA world championship gold medals - worst player on Team USA both times, and was a below average player versus what all the other players in the tournament were doing both times.

Led Memphis to the NCAA championship game - where he lost.

    NOPE, not HOF material.

Do I think he is? Absolutely not. Would he get in? Of course.

    Absolutely not.

His MVP credential has a huge *

The MVP was gifted to him by the Spurs' injuries. He would not have had the narrative of being the best player on the best team had not Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili all gotten injured and the Spurs lost 8 of their final 12 games of the regular season to finish at 61Ws. The Bulls won 62 that year and the Spurs were on pace to finish with 66-67 before that final stretch.

He was arguably not even a top 5 player in his MVP season (LBJ, Durant, Wade, Howard, CP3, and maybe Kobe).

If Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill aren't going to make the HOF due to injury derailment, then neither should Rose.

    Yeah, he's garbage on FIBA.

The Ronny Turiaf of team USA.
