Hood was becoming a consistent threat throughout different roles in the offense.
Consistent is not a word I'd use for Hood.

Going into his third season, Hood can make his biggest leap behind the 3-point line and the Jazz are set up to make it happen.
Defense. He's behind Hill, Hayward, Mack and Neto(maybe Exum) right now on the perimeter. As far as the 3 I'd rather see him taking it to the hole for the mid range stuff where he really excels especially when the 3 isn't falling. Needs to get to the line more. He's their best FT shooter isn't he? Needs to be able to create for others better. He was improving there as the year went on. Rebound more. If he could play some 4 this year it would be big. Not sure why Ingles can and he can't? I'm not sure at his age he's going to improve as much as people think. Looks like a bench piece on a really good team which the Jazz should be.

He thrived in San Antonio to start his NBA career and he showed that he plays best as a shooting guard.
which is how I see it with the Jazz.

He can start at either guard position.
No one in Utah is saying this. I see him as the starting 2 right now. He's too good at D and 3's.

When shots from the charity stripe must be made, you can absolutely count on Hill.
    they need that!

His wingspan helps him defensively, though there will be games where he gets lit up by elite scorers. Thankfully Utah has other defensive stoppers on the roster to step up whenever he has an off game.
need his length as part of the team D

He was like a modern-day Antoine Carr; a fiery big man who would enter the game, rile the crowd at Vivint Arena and rattle the opposition with his intensity.
That was his first season with them. Wasn't the same after that. I would have dumped him after the 2nd year.

I think I speak for the whole of the fanbase when I say that the feeling is mutual.
I certainly haven't ever gotten that impression. He can't shoot he must go!

Probably need to do better to finish 4th in the league. Not sure they have it in them.

Johnson can lead the second unit as a go-to scorer
Along with Burks and Hood. If even two of them can go off on teams every night they could be something else. The D might suffer with the 2nd unit though without Neto and Exum.

Utah could've been content to hold tight, re-signing Trevor Booker and doing nothing more as the many young pieces developed.
Probably would have if they'd signed Hayward to a deal where he didn't have an out.

This was a perfect offseason for the up-and-coming Western Conference contenders.
I really only like the Hill deal now. And Burke of course!

Pairing him with Dante Exum should make for one of the best defensive backcourts in the league.
Not to mention their frontcourt. Can he still defend?

    Rodney Hood is the future
We'll see. He's looking like one of the more expendable pieces now.
