Re: USA cut wall,Beal, and Millsap
I don't understand the cut of Wall and Millsap.
The article that I read, on ESPN, said that Rose is a "shoo-in". I don't understand why a player that has not been healthy for two straight years would be a shoo-in over one of the best passing PGs in the league. IMO, if a PG can't shoot 3's well, he better be a great passer and defender. Neither Rose nor Wall is known for shooting 3s. Wall is the better passer/defender, and thus the better fit, at this stage. So that makes no sense.
Then on to Millsap... bigs in the Olympics need to either hit an outside jumper or protect the paint. Neither Faried or Millsap can protect the paint, but Millsap can hit a jumper. So the choice, again, makes no sense.
I'd like to see explanations, but we all know that will never happen.
Maybe Beal, Wall and Millsap were scared off by George's injury, and asked to be cut?

I'm surprised about Wall and Beal getting cut.
can't say I understand Coach K's thinking here
but I'm sure he saw something in the lack of their skill set that seemed undesireable
DeRozan's size must have played a part in it
he's probably the guy that helps keep Irving or Lillard on the court.

I think the difference is on court production efficiency. And Faried has always been a very good rebounder in my opinion. actually reminds me a little bit of Reggie Evan.
If both were given 12-16 minutes per game, Faried is simply going to have a more defined role over Millsap. And be better at such defined role.
I am doubtful he is enough to keep Korver on the squad though.
But Parsons/Hayward still got something to prove as far as I'm concerned.

DeMar has a pretty impressive scrimmage too.

Re: USA cut wall,Beal, and Millsap
Why are they cutting them in installments? That's a bit humiliating to be cut first. Just reduce the roster to 12 already.

Good. Get Wall and Beal in shape and rested. No excuses for another slow start to the season by Beal

with beals great shooting and his improving ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket or make the right pass, i really thought he'd make the team.

He had a good scrimmage for Team White, but he ultimately gets cut because of his lack of size and versatility. He can only play SG on this team and you have Harden, Thompson, Korver, and DeRozan who are more versatile at the position already as it is.
Also, another reason I believe he got cut is because Wall (bad scrimmage with Team Blue, doesn't fit FIBA style despite being the better defender among his fellow PG's) got cut too, I don't think they were going to keep him either... could cause potential conflict IMO.
I'm assuming the same will happen to Korver (Millsap cut) too since despite his versatility in position, all he will be on the floor for is to shoot... but I'm vouching for Korver too so we'll see what ahppens.
