Default Is height for perimeter players overrated?

Muggsy bogues 5'3 - great point guard
Isaiah Thomas 5'9 - better than other guys like 6'6 vazquez or 6'5 tyreke evans.
CP3 barely 6'0 yet best PG.

89 pistons vs 89 lakers they had a backcourt of..

6'1 Isiah Thomas, 6'2 Joe Dumars and 6'5 Mark Agguire vs 6'8 Magic , 6'5 Cooper and 6'9 Worthy and not to mention 7'2 Kareem manning the middle, yet still won the series 4-0.

Scott was out for the entire series and Magic only played 1 1/2 games...but height IS overrated in a sense. It helps but good players can easily overcome a lack of height.

How about the millions of 5' something guards that never made the league?

Your argument is basically...Take Charles Barkley...See height for PFs are overrated.

Height is not everything but no one says it is. It matters though.

    Actually, it's underrated if anything.

    Cooper is 6'7

But no it's not overrated. Everybody who is that short is absolutely at something... whether it's athleticism, trickery, shooting ability, ridiculous length despite being short, etc. You can be 6'6 and kind of a scrub but your height and length that comes along with it can make up for it. I mean all you have to do is look around the league and you can see how many players under 6'3/6'4 make it. There just aren't very many.

I believe height is overrated... more important is reach/wingspan. You play basketball with your hands, not the top of your head. In his prime, people looked at Wade's height and thought, "How does he play so big?"

It's because he has a freakish wingspan that allowed him to do things guys 6'5 with a 6'8 wingspan couldn't do. There are countless examples of this... Barkley was another.

I never see a little man in anyone's top 10.

I usually don't see a little man in anybodies top 20 to be honest.

So no, height is not overrated.

Height is overrated for every player . Wingspan and body size matter .

Everybody can see that in actions of games .
