One of the Most Underrated Players Ever!

6 ft 2 and slim averaging 8-9 RPG as a Guard

    6 steals isn't that close to 10.

Doubt it. If anything it just proves his point, that the 80's and 90's were stronger than this era even though the children like to tell you that everyone back then were scrubs......

you make it sound like getting 4 more steals is such an easy thing to do.

I think he finished top 10 in MVP voting in 88 or 87. Very underrated player but in that era specifically you had guys like Magic, Isiah, Cheeks, Stockton, Price, DJ, Doc Rivers, Mark Jackson etc... basically all playing in big markets or out East except for Stock of course. I still remember the West Semis against the Jazz that year and watching Stockton was a revelation, I think Chick echoed every Lakers fan sentiment when he declared Stock the best player in that series and he was.

Gotta love the players from that era though, you left them 1 second of daylight they made you pay, no dribbling the air out of the ball for 15 seconds looking for a 3 pointer, if you were open from 15 to 20 feet with 20 seconds on the clock, you TOOK THE DAMN SHOT! That's why the offenses were so fast and quick hitting back in those days, no hesitation from the inside or mid range! Post players and perimeter guys made FASTER decisions on the floor, a big part of that came from being fundamentally and skillfully sound!

Another aspect was that the fast break is being led by a TRUE PG who's mentality is to get an open layup for his teammate first instead of ramming the ball against 2 or 3 defenders by himself (Wesbrick and Harden should take notes)

Another gem from the Golden Age
