Re: Frank Kaminsky highlights and my 2 cents:
I have to agree with OP while he has some range it is such a waste for him to hangout at the 3pt line. Stay in the blocks and rebound.

Maybe their pick isn't so terrible.
Even the stiffest scrub in the NBA can put the ball on the floor in a draft workout video.
This shit doesnt mean anything.

Very good NBA starter
Re: Frank Kaminsky highlights and my 2 cents:
Kaminsky has a far better post game than op is giving him credit for. he'll take advantage when teams defend him with smaller players.

Ugh gotta agree with op, especially when you think that someone like D-Mo was pick nr 20 and it's really hard to see Kaminsky turning out better.

A better passing Spencer Hawes. Slightly taller too (Kaminsky is 6-11, Hawes is 6-10 1/2.)

He reminds me of Pat garrity. Definitely not a star but very good depth to have. Will

His back to the basket game has really polished over the years. I think with some additional strength, and work on his timing, he can be a very compelling inside-out player. However, it will be a struggle when he's in a very up and down paced game. But it may not be thaaat bad, there were times he surprised me with his agility and deceptive quickness.

Seriously. WOW.
I'm from WI and watched every game the last two years. He just turned 22 in April; he isnt 28 like some BYU guy beating up on kids.
He DESTROYED Okafor in the Natl Champ with his footwork which is ABSOLUTELY elite. He was the best shooter, regardless of position, taken in the top 10 and CERTAINLY has NBA range.
He can take doubles and is a good passer out of the post.
He wasn't asked to do a lot defensively as they really didn't want him to get in foul trouble as he was SOOooo important offensively. But he CERTAINLY wasn't manhandled by anyone physically, including Okafor twice and Towns once; in fact, in the physical B10 he was the one doing the pushing around most of the time. He will have trouble guarding some of the brutes in the NBA but the C position is moving towards what he offers.
He is tall but a lot of his height is torso so his standing reach, etc was less than what teams would want from their C. This may also cause problems rebounding and he would probably need another physical presence inside to reach his peak.
But if he didn't look like a goofy white guy he would be getting far more praise. He was definitively the best player in CBB last year and has repeatedly been **** on for being a goofy white dude. Mark Gasol, Pau Gasol, Bogut are all goofy white dudes and are among the best Cs in the league.

Re: Frank Kaminsky highlights and my 2 cents:
What can possibly make Frank a good player in the NBA is his offensive versatility, can shoot it, has enough mobility to face up or maybe even attack slower bigs closing out. He will definitely get bullied by stronger bigs in the post but it's not like the nba is filled with those and he's mobile enough to help on the PnR. I'm not sure if the Hornets should have picked him but I guess they wanted someone who they already knew more or less what they could do in the NBA... or it's just more than likely Jordan being Jordan.
