yeah, not happening.

My city needs a team!
Re: Explain why Pau Gasol is worth a first rounder
He's not a lottery pick, that's for sure. I'd say 20+ to 2nd rd.
Don't really think Cavs have the leverage.
Either they get something out of Bynum or they waive him and let him sign with a contender for cheap.
So far, the Lakers are the only one interested in trading for Bynum.

Pau is still very serviceable if used correctly. He's also a great piece for teams that want to contend right now.
Miami or OKC would easily give up a first round pick for Pau.

Cavs would have the cap space to offer him a lucrative 2/3 yr deal and still go after other free agents. (But that's only if they trade for him and get rid of Bynum)

How am I dumb Gasol+ Kyrie+Mike Brown=Successs. The cavs lack inside scoring which Gasol brings. Plus Gasol loves Mike Brown so this could work out.

No need to help the most stacked team in the league out anymore.
Amare for Gasol, don't know why it hasn't happened yet.
I was implying he's only worth a late first rounder. It's not like the Heat can afford him anyway.

He isn't worth what he's asking for.

To some teams he may be worth around 7-8mil for 2/3 yrs. Especially ones looking to contend.

He's not worth 7-8 mil/year for ANY team. Especially not a contending one. Stop kidding yourself.

For what? They are not gonna attract any free agents, and waiving Bynum clears more than enough space if they really want. Do you really think a max free agent is going to Cleveland?

i was talking about the lakers side of it. the question at hand was what does keeping gasol do for the lakers.

with God-given ass
Re: Explain why Pau Gasol is worth a first rounder
Why would a non contender want Gasol? Unless you can get rid of a bad contract by getting him... But then why would the Lakers do that?

Trade for an injury ravaged guy averaging a career low in mpg getting paid 21M this season and 23M next season. By all means, make that happen. The brilliance of that GMing would make the likes of Otis Smith even blush.
