Default Tyreke Evans and James Harden...

What separates these two as players?

Clearly they have different roles, and have progressed their careers as different players, but in terms of just players, they are very similar, with each having strengths over each other. But, what makes Harden that much better?

In terms of physical tools, they are essentially identical in weight, height, length and jumping.

They are both great at getting to the ring, probably equal, same as play-making, which I'd even give to Tyreke since he is a better ball handler, and both are physical players who can overwhelm their defender.

My point is they are extremely similar, with Harden's only edge, at least according to me, being shooting. How is it that despite maybe only one or two things in favor of Harden he is so much better than Tyreke as a player?
Is it simply due to the way they've been developed? Is Tyreke capable of more and simply not in a position to do so? Is Tyreke able to put up current Harden numbers?

Simply shooting opens up enough room for Harden to put up 11ppg more than Tyreke?

Harden's vision is underrated. you cant help probably on him. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/ja...es-3-pointers/

But his ability to draw fouls is one of the best of all time. And had been since his okc days.

Wow the Harden hate on this board is on another level. Compared to Tyreke Evans? Maybe 6 years ago when they were in the same draft class.

If Evans stopped playing for his stats like he did his rookie season maybe he could be an actual asset.

Everyone and their momma knows how to defend Evans, he's never gonna average 20 PPG again.

And his ability to draw fouls be it flopping, bogus calls or not. He consistently does it night in and night out. Reke hasn't progressed since his rookie season and that jumper is still non existent.

    Harden 2.5-6.8 3ptM-3ptA
    T.Evans 0.8-3.0 3ptM-3ptA

    Harden 8.8-10.1 FTM-FTA
    T.Evans 2.6-3.7 FTM-FTA

    Glaring.

Hard to defend Harden. Tyreke Evans you force him to shoot.

Harden is just a smarter player on the offensive end. Given the rules and his better shooting, it just separates them completely. Harden is probably better on defense too. It's close between their ball handling, perhaps.

Crazy, because I thought these 2 would be the best 2 wings of their draft class. I think Tyreke vs DeMar is a closer debate.

How is it hate? They are very similar players, yet Harden somehow stands far above Tyreke.

The whole thread is asking how is Harden so much better given so many actual strengths over Tyreke. How is that not a compliment? I'm simply saying he is great at maximizing and making the most of what he has.

You Rocket fans are so sensitive.
