Potential dynasty? No chance. Dirk had to play his ass off and the rest of the team had some old players. Cuban is a smart guy. He may not have gotten Dwight or D-Will, but he saw the writing on the wall even with his title team. They weren't built to last. Cuban had invested tons of money in those teams over the years.

As for the Knicks, they want titles. Problem is they have the worst management in the league.

99% of pro sport franchises want to win championships since having titles and trophies on their shelves will only make them better financially in a long run.

Their recent draftees (DeRozan, Davis, Valenciunas, Ross) are decent also.

OKC offered harden 55 million dollars.

I don't consider that cheap. Harden wanted to be his own guy and not play in the shadow of Durant and Westbrook. Didn't seem like so much of a money issue; to me I think it was more of a role issue.

Even teams that have long epitomized mediocrity like the Bucks and Hawks have won titles in the past, and are actually in great position for the future, though obviously they might squander it.


The Bucks finally have a truly ambitious, long term strategy based on youth, length and potential. If Giannis pans out and they grab one of the prizes in the coming draft (the good thing for them is that there are potentially multiple prizes this year) they might even find themselves with a championship core for the first time, with a franchise changing superstar and Giannis as his Pippen.

The Hawks have an absurd amount of draft picks...

The Sixers, who've been somewhat mediocre since their 2001, look like they don't care but are actually a potential contender in disguise with all their high draft picks. Some years down the line they could end up with a formidable OKC style young big 3 with MCW at the point, a healthy Noel to do the dirty work, and one of Embiid/Wiggins/Parker/Exum to carry the load.
