Going back to last season the Heat are 25-32 over their last 57 regular season games, so the team's issues go well beyond the injuries they have had this season.
You're right: they do. But Whiteside is looking to be providing an answer, and Mcroberts was meant to fix the other weakness (only one reliable playmaker). So yeah, that injury hurt massively. If the Granger revival continues and we hadn't been riddled with injuries then i would have expected around 50 wins.

Update: Just got back from the HEAT game against the Thunder. I don't get to go to many games in person since I don't live in Miami. It was absolutely embarrassing. Absolutely no effort, completely languid. Wade was coasting, no D. The final score does absolutely no justice to how bad the HEAT were tonight. The Thunder took 24 shots more than the HEAT.

    They will finish below .500.

I predicted a 38 win season and it seems I got them right again.

As of now the Heat are on pace to win 36 games, so 38 wins would actually be progress. How the mighty have fallen.

Bosh is a beast now that he doesn't have to deal with Lebron ball.

Basically the new Kevin Love. Great stats, but very little impact.

When kevin love plays with lebron his stats go down and his defense got worse. #Lebroneffect.

Can't see them finishing above .500 but they will still sneak into the playoffs. Don't see anything more than a first round exit for them in the playoffs but what I am curious about is who Pat Riley goes after in the free agency. While Bosh is a good player and is generally underrated, they overpaid massively for him. Could have used that money on someone like a LaMarcus Aldridge this summer.

Been rather unfortunate with injuries: whenever they've started to get some chemistry and actually play well a key piece goes down: Birdman & McBob at start, then Wade, then McBob for season, then Bosh, then Wade again now Whiteside. Why can't Chalmers or Cole get injured ffs?

They were looking pretty good with the Whiteside & Wade combo (been like 2+ lobs a game), who were showing some nice chemistry together; and having an actual rim protector makes a big difference for this team. Doesn't matter so much that Bosh is a soft bitch.
