He intentionally declares that his team is crap so there won't be any heat on him if he gets eliminated in the playoffs. Unlike in previous years when he declares himself the King and promised rings to Cleveland. Then he completely got shat on by everyone so that's why he went to team up.

Now that he is saying that his team is sh1t and there won't be any championship expectations, he will be propped up by fans if Cleveland wins it all, which we all know they will, because he "carried" a "crap" team to a ring. But if he loses, he'll just say, I told you so from the beginning.
