Lebron is closing the gap but you just can not erase for more then half the year much of it without Westbrook.

LeBron is coming for the MVP. Durant made his case with his heat streak in January and Lebron has answered. Now it's KD's turn to respond.

Durant had that one month, at the beginning of the season he was not playing well, shooting below 50% and just looking even worse this season. He had that awesome month but Lebron was always right behind him playing at a high level at all times. Durant did well without Westbrook but Lebron is also having to deal with Wade taking games off and if this maintenance program continues for Wade he will have missed as many games as Westbrook did at the end of the season.
Now, Lebron is having his awesome month and with that he's shooting at 58% which is just unheard of by a perimeter player, he is leading his team in ppg, apg and rpg while Miami is rolling and if they keep this play going he will be getting his 5th trophy.

I still have Durant ahead in the MVP by a hairline.

It is even right now. It will all come down to the final 1/3 of the season. If Lebron plays great and ends up stealing the 1 seed from Indy then KD has no chance at the MVP.
People keep referencing KD carrying the team without Westbrook but Lebron has been putting the team on his back all year so that Wade can pick his spots and sit out like 15 games already.

Just 3 games ago, Durant had slightly over 1pt on Lebron in PER. After this 61pt game coupled with Durant's recent lousy shooting games, Lebron is now 0.07 pts behind.

It's very close. I think the media will lean towards giving it to Durant over LeBron because Durant doesn't have any MVPs. But there are still 20+ games to be played.

Media could also try to make bron the new MJ.
