The East was weak and the Sixers had the best record in the East, so why is shocking they made the Finals?

nah. westbrook is better. he puts more pressure on defenses with his athleticism. dude is also more efficient and last year, arguably had a better playoff run than iverson ever had.

Nah Iverson puts more pressure on defenses with his quickness, craftiness, and mental toughness. If you put your hands on Westbrook and frustrate him like many players refuse to do due to softness and the rules, this dude plays out of control. And with his average point guard handles, he's going to make a lot of mistakes with his head down. Check his stats against physical guards like Beverly, Rondo, CP3, etc. Doesn't he average like 10 turnovers against Bev?
Iverson led his team to the finals with a taller Ibaka and with a Reggie Jackson caliber second scoring option in McKie. McKie can't even take over like Reggie though. Tony Kukoc was their only floor spacer too. They gave the dominant Lakers their only lost of the playoffs with both Shaq and Iverson scoring almost 50 that game!
With the new rules in place, AI was dropping 33/7 on 45% in 2006. Dropping back to back 40 point games like nothing. He gets below 3 turnovers per 36 while Westbrook is always hovering 4. Please don't talk about being efficient when it comes to Westbrook...posting average-like true shooting percentages of 53-54%. Iverson was averaging that post handcheck era.
Westbrook is great but he aint Iverson great...at least not yet.
