Re: Anthony Davis living the Dream
Don't forget Hakeem started playing ball at a very late age, and also had to spend the first years of his NBA career next to Ralph Sampson, who was also averaging nearly 20 ppg and 11 rpg.

Winning is the main point to playing.
Hakeem made the finals the season prior to that.

He's been playing like a beast. I don't really wanna compare him to Hakeem at this point, and let's see how he ends up the season.

And that team was already great, with lots of potential still... Too bad it all fell apart quickly.
Plus, Hakeem was already so skilled in the post in his early days, you just don't see youngsters coming up to the league like that.

But he lost, so he was 0/1. Pathetic.

Re: Anthony Davis living the Dream
Still question how the Pelicans built around him. That team is primed for a second round ceiling in the West. And that's only because how great Unibrow will become. If he were merely a situational great player then you are looking at a fight for playoffs/first round roster.

davis needs to develop a post game if he wants to be elite when his athleticism goes away.

Hakeem dominated the Lakers in the West finals and what was proclaimed as the Greatest Frontcourt in league history in the Finals. Averaged 27 and 11 and 3.5 blocks and 2 steals a game in the 1986 playoffs.

his post game is pretty deadly, the Pels just don't know what an entry pass looks like, it's all pick and roll.

So now that Kevin Love is on the Cavs, people are gonna start calling Davis the new "empty stat" dude?

I can't speak for everyone, though.

Hid 3rd year is closer to David Robinson's than it is to Hakeems at this point. (23.2ppg 12.2rpg 4.5bpg 2.3spg .551%fg)

Kobe is top MVP candidate but Davis is overrated because he cannot lead a team to the playoffs
