scoring is VERY important. Since each era becomes more and more difficult, the scoring becomes even that much more important.

Russell is like number 30 or something like that. 15 ppg averages? top 6? -- HA.
It's not fair to penalize Russell based on the era he played in. Who's to say how he would've performed today, or how any current superstars would perform back then. That's nothing but speculation. And speculation is virtually meaningless in debates. We do, however, have facts, and the facts say Russell was an 11 time champion, 5 time MVP, and one of the greatest defensive players of all time. He deserves a top five ranking. Please don't use that argument.
Now if you are going to use it regardless, how can you have Kobe at six? What about dominant interior players like Hakeem, Shaq, and Duncan, who are all recent and clearly better? Either way, Kobe at six is absolutely ludicrous.
