Agreed, but they just waived Williams to save them some money, I think they should look to move Pau for a young piece/picks.

Let's see how awesome this trade is a year from now when Deng is retired and can barley walk anymore.

I don't know how this can be seen as anything other than a huge get for the Cavs. If you would have told me at the beginning of the season when we weren't even sure if Bynum would play that we would flip his contract for Deng a third of the way through the season, I would have been doing backflips.
Now considering how things fell apart with Drew, for this to happen? Wow.
I said during the Gasol talks that I didn't understand why they were even bothering since we needed a SF and a veteran on the perimeter. Deng fits every criteria of what this team needed.
Scorer, defender, great teammate. Maybe most importantly he has proven that he can be very effective in an offense with a young, talented, high usage PG.
I understand why the Bulls did it too. Cut salary, get some decent assets and go all out for the draft. But, to get an All-Star at our most dire position for an expirer and mediocre picks? Great job by Chris Grant.
We're going from Alonzo Gee and Earl Clark to Deng... should be fun.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:
Cavs upgrade SF position w/ trade. Deng, this season - 19.0 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 45.2 FG%. Cavs' SF, this season - 4.9 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 36.4 FG%.

Bulls made out big. Tank, get Wiggins. Clear cap space. Deng was requesting ridiculous money, again. For a talent that isn't All Star caliber. Now, get rid of Boozer and we're cooking with gas.

Hasn't he been an All-Star for the last couple of seasons?
Like I said, the deal makes sense for both teams. With Rose out, there's no sense in staying in the middle of the pack this year for the Bulls. Go for broke on another high lottery pick in this stacked draft.
For the Cavs, we've been playing the last few seasons with Alonzo Gee as our starting SF. I've been saying all year that the Cavs' biggest issues were no starting caliber SF on the roster, no veteran presence and no outside shooting. Deng knocks two of those issues out of the park.
This deal really does make me wonder why the hell the Cavs were ever even talking to LA about a Gasol deal. This is a far superior move, both in the short-term and the long.

Too bad you have a good HC with Thibs. No Wiggins for you.

I get a bad feeling Deng is going to turn into Antawn Jamison 2.0.

Just seemed like he declined the rest of his career, but a lot of that is age...but wait, Deng is a similiar age...
