One of the quickest, most difficult to block, efficient releases...

Clifford Robinson, who was 6'11', won all-defensive distinctions in '00 and '02, and played 'til '07, couldn't even get close to it when Bird was with a wrecked back, bit overweight with little mobility. Go watch some of his games against the Blazers in the early 90's for that.

7'3, 36'' vert, Ralph Sampson couldn't block it face to face

Keep trolling, I would love to see Bird drain shot after shot in the face of your favorite forward or center

The best shooter in the NBA history ever!

I think Bird is just unblockable. The arc on his shot, the fall away technique, the form is just fundamentally correct.

Larry Bird is when mid to long range shooter is perfected to 100%.

Until MJ came along & ruined it for future generation with his line drive arc less fadeaways & fallaways that everyone copies now.

& MJ is right. He did ruined the game forever.

    Lebron would destroy Bird.

You don't want to go there.

a reason why this forum is filled with full retards by genetics btw.

we are not discussing LBJ vs Kobe here. which LBJ can destroy the match up easily.

A couple of 3 pointers from Bird, LBJ wll be in a dog fight that Bird would easily come out on the top

    lemme put it his way.

Bird is fully capable of having a stat line of 55/10/10 in head-2-head match up against LBJ under current offense only no defense NBA of today which suits Bird perfectly.

He'll be out of the blocks in no time.

Bird would be, head n shoulders, the best player in this league right now, with LeBron close behind though.

Yea like some of these guys did

Like Sf's such as Julius, Wilkins, Worthy, Dantley, English, King, Marques, Aguirre, were even on the same level as Bird's at the same time

Like athletic freaks such as Wilkins, Julius, Woolridge, Nance, Bobby Jones, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Kersey, Cooper, ever gave him any real trouble, even when he was old and injured.. some of those are GOAT defensive players

As if superstar Sf's like Durant or Melo right now, are really stopping/guarding Lebron lmao.. and Bird was a better defensive player than them, dude could play some great team D, guard the post (Sf's and Pf's or even C's when the situation required), even trouble guys with his smarts/witts and quick hands on the perimeter, impact the game with his rebounding/defense
Plus great driving can be contained mostly by the team, great all around shooting gotta be contained by mostly one player, and Bird was "unstoppable"

    80s Sf's > 00s Sf's; 80s > 00s, competition as far as teams
He won 3 straight MVP's in a time with Magic, Jordan, Kareem, Moses, Hakeem, Julius, Wilkins, King, Barkley, Ewing...

The Ignorance I am Reading Regarding Larry Bird in Some Posters is Just Insane. Should I Start Blocking Some 20 Year Olds?
