If the guards Lillard and McCollum dominate the Nuggets' backcourt thoroughly, and the Blazers' frontline controls the Joker, they can win. But they won't have ex-Nugget Nurkic available, and now Kanter is all banged up. If he can't go, this will be a sweep. Otherwise it would have been a competitive series.

Since the Nuggets are more talented, deeper and have homecourt advantage, they will win. The only thing holding back the Nuggets is a lack of playoff experience. That means they are inconsistent, unable to perform consistent ball from game to game.

Jokic dominated the Spurs with 23.1 ppg, 12.1 rpg, and 9.1 apg, with solid efficiency (48.8% FG, 33.3% 3FG, 87.5% FT). Since he will be the best player in the series, the Nuggets should win comfortably, notwithstanding Lillard's heroics.

Denver in 5

I'm going to be looking at Aminu and Harkless to bring defensive intensity. If I see Harkless blocking shots and grabbing boards that will be a great sign.

Blazers have played some smothering defense in stretches. I need to see that against Denver.

Nuggets have been a rollercoaster so far, hoping the experience against the Spurs has them settling down abit. Hopefully Barton decides to show up as well.

Portland has had alot of rest, and Denver went 7. Interesting to see if Portland looks rusty or comes out rested up and the Nuggets are a little fatigued early. Jokic isn't in the best of shape he was doing some heavy lifting to finish the series. First playoffs, really hope he doesn't hit a wall.

Murray/Harris vs C.J/Dame will be the big matchup. If Denver can even come close to matching them or limiting them on offense I'm confident we win the series. If Dame does what he did too OKC Denver will be in trouble.

I'm hearing Kanter is in pain going through warm ups. I don't think he should play in game 1. I'd let him rest. It's only going to get worse. If he plays tonight it would probably be even more pain in the morning.

i predicted nuggets in 7 over spurs. I'm going go with that again, in 7 over the Blazers. With easy matchups for both of them, I expect Jokic and Lillard to put on an absolute show.

I hear Kanter is playing which is good. I'm actually scared to see Meyers guard Jokic. Meyers has been utterly useless for 5 years.

Kanter hurt himself dunking harder than he needed to dunk.

Glad he didn't risk the miss laying it up but no need to do extra.

Even if neither of these teams are realistically vying for a championship this year, this series is still intriguing for the WCF drought that'll end for one of these franchises—a decade since the Nuggets' last appearance, and nearly twice that for the Trailblazers.

Neither team seems to be able to get a stop.

Don't like Kanter not guarding Jokic at the three. That's just dumb.
