The A's official Twitter account took offense the other night when Smash Mouth called them out, and they just went for the jugular.

I actually worked for the A's this past season and the person who runs their social media is a very nice girl in her mid 20's.

Although the person who made these tweets definitely sounds more like the person you described. Or you know.. just a bitter A's fan.
