Why is Ray Allen even in the discussion with these great players? In his prime and in his best season, he didn't even make the Allstar team. He' never been the caliber player Vince, Iverson, T-Mac and Kobe was. It's asinine to think so.

    He was perfecetly stoppable.........by himself.

It's going to be hard for a lot of the simple minded fans to understand the question that's even being asked. Kobe is clearly the best player of the five, but that isn't really the question.

I agree with the lot of people that have posted on how dominant that T-Mac was (namely with the Magic). T-Mac's best season is very comparable to Kobe's best season if not better, and one can't say "Kobe won championships though", because the Lakers sucked during Kobe's best season. Kobe never won without an incredible team around him. Same with T-Mac. Last year was Kobe's first championship as the best player on his team.

The fact is though, T-Mac was capable of being as good as or better than Kobe, but he failed to deliver due to injuries. It's really too bad.

As for Iverson, I don't think he was better than either in their primes because he was a lesser shooter, and always had an inferior FG%. He scored 30 PPG sure, but he took way too many shots considering that he barely shot 40% from the field most years.

Vince was good, but not in those three's leagues imo. Ray Allen was good, but also not in their leagues.

    1: Kobe

    2: T Mac

    3: Iverson

    4: Carter

    5: Allem

If we are talking about absolute prime, McGrady was the best of the 5, with Kobe as a close second.

    1. McGrady (2002-2003 season)
    2. Kobe
    3. Iverson
    4. Carter
    5. Allen

don't forget that T-Mac choked in late game situations, and was an average three throw shooter. He's just a slightly better rebounder, and def' a better 3pt shooter than Kobe. I don't think he was much better besides his threes. Then again he never had a Lakers team to play on, so maybe he would've had different fortunes if he ended up on a great team by sheer luck like Kobe did.

T-mac was the best when 100% healthy. He made the game look so easy he didn't even break a sweat and dude also had lockdown defense.

When it comes to T-Mac, he was the guy most equipped to battle Kobe. He had the all around game Vince didn't have, the athletic ability Ray didn't have (even though Ray was an above average and even underrated athlete), and the size AI didn't have. Problem was health and consistent killer defense that Kobe had. If T-Mac was better than Kobe, it was for a cup of coffee. Can't control health sometimes, but T-Mac and the defensive end were the difference between he and Kobe. Even though T-Mac was so long and athletic that he could check some PF's. In terms of peak value though, the other SG's I can say FOR SURE I would take over T Mac are MJ and Kobe. Mac was that good and at 6'9 provided an SG that we had never really seen before given the totality of his size, athletic ability, all around excellence, and scoring skillset. It was damn near like combining George Gervin, Penny, and adding a couple of extra inches. SICK!!!
