What exactly does firing Blatt achieve?
Is not having him supposed to help the Cavs in the finals against the Warriors or Spurs? Will it help maximize Love's offensive abilities and minimize his defensive liabilities? Will it mean that Lebron bothers to show up the next time the defending champs roll into town?
They're 30-11, they got to the finals last season and competed despite the injuries they had. I don't get it. What makes Blatt worse than Spo?
At the same time, I never understood why he was hired in the first place once they knew Lebron was coming back. Didn't seem like the best idea.

From what I've read, Tyrone Lue was callling a lot of the shots anyway and was the guy the players listened to.
So, it appears that all they did was give the real shot caller the title of Head Coach, and moved the other guy out of the way so the real coach could have the power he needs.

I guess so. But what happens if they don't win the title this year, and they fired a coach who was doing well in the middle of the season? Does Lou get blamed?
Maybe they think there will be better locker room chemistry, and that's what they need to compete with the Warriors/Spurs. But if they lose ...

Re: What exactly does firing Blatt achieve?
David Griffin said that players were divided and there was no chemistry.
Obviously the main core (Lebron, Kyrie, TT, Shump, JR) couldnt feel comfortable under a white coach. Same reason Cp3 wanted to fire Negro

Wait, weren't guys calling him out for letting LeBron step all over him? Why would they want a guy who didn't earn the respect of the best player in history?
You do realize LeBron is the most important piece of the Cavs success. He's everything.
Blatt has little NBA experience. And he failed to create a working relationship with the stars on the team. The players trust and respect Lue more, and that's what it comes down to. They hope to achieve more chemistry so they can have a better chance at a championship. It's really really simple. That's it. They feel Blatt wasn't the guy. How hard is that to grasp?

Okay. It's just weird timing. Surely, this didn't start this season. Why not get rid of the guy in the offseason?
And they better win.

Re: What exactly does firing Blatt achieve?
Blatt was hired before Lebron got there, before Love got there, before Wiggins
Blatt hiring was suppose to lead a team of young talent to be an above average squad
Blatt was not hired to lead a team contending for a championship with a team full of ego's
Lebron and family originally wanted Mark Jackson as head coach, Grant said nah, so Rich Paul n Co. pushed for Lue
Blatt was suppose to get fired after the Portland blowout in Dec, but the following Phx game stopped that from happening
Teamates are waiving off Blatt's offensive calls and only been listening to Lue's
Blatt was scared to call out Lebron, only Lue would put Lebron in his place during games
The team is not anywhere connected to Blatt as a 30-11 team should be
It's apparent to the media surrounding the Cavs, most of the distrust towards Blatt came from Love, whom never liked Blatt.
Blatt was not using his roster effectively, his rotations effectively
The Cavaliers are WINNING but REGRESSING, they have been taking 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards

It's definitely strange to fire Blatt since he lead the team to the Finals when they were injured. And they are 32-11 at the moment.
That's not a bad job of coaching.
But with the Warriors this year, to win the Finals they'll have to have a legendary team. They can't just be pretty good.
And i guess they didn't think they could become a legendary team with a coach nobody listened to anyway.

It means today LeBron got his friend a job. Blatt wasn't LeBrons friend
