at the end of the day, it's all about Duncan. drafting him forever changed the Spurs - they won a championship in just his second season and him winning back-to-back MVP's wasn't far behind. It's a player's league ultimately and he's one of the best players to ever play professional basketball, top 10 for sure. Best Power Forward ever. Much like Lebron got Spoelstra a couple of rings, Duncan would have jump started any coach's career when he came out of Wake Forest ready to ball. That's not a shot at Pop, who's also one of the best coaches all time (he learned from Larry Brown and other great coaches), it's just reality. Amongst players, Duncan is the only common denominator in Spurs' 5 championships and he's still damn good for his age.
