Lol, Kobe stans cling to that 81 point game like a needy GF. It was a legendary game, sure, but a January game against a terrible team <<<<<< a significantly better career

scoring more 50 and 60 point games in the playoffs is redundant. ( especially the 60 point game since he LOST in double OT ).... it just means he played in a crap era where 30 win teams made the playoffs. and the bulls were built on defense when they won titles. making it possible for jordan to take his team mates out of rhythm gunning for 50... kobe had to worry about his fragile team mates that would quit if they didnt get the ball enough

and kobe has a 1.30 points per shot average aswell. jordans 4 more shots per game career average is the only reason he averages more points

and why are you so insecure all of a sudden?

well... its only the most dominant performance in nba history

but kobe bested jordans 4 quarter high like 3-4 times anyway...

and 5-6 times he had 50+ after 3 quarters and would have destroyed mikes record then too

scoring more in the playoffs is all that matters.

scoring in the regular-season against teams that may or may not play their best deserves somewhat of an asterisk.

jordan has less asterisks than kobe does if we're being objective. i'm not a fan of either player, so take my word for it.

and you should be saying "scoring in the playoffs and* winning*"

I guess OP had a need to make this thread given the fact that this is like 1 of 5 things Kobe has over MJ out of like 500 possibilities. Good job OP.

It's true. What an impressive game.

Too bad Jordan's performances throughout his career against top-tier teams shit on Kobe's. Who do you want on your team in a 7 games series facing the top defense in the league in the playoffs? If anyone were to choose Kobe, they would be lowering their chances.

it was a fixed outcome remember? or are you new to basketball

intentionally fouling the other team the entire 4th quarter to get the ball back and have 3 times as many possessions = void

a career sh*t free throw shooter jumping over the line to hit nearly 100% of his 30+ free throws = void

    no video = void

    shit era = void

yes it does. that means jordan faced better defenses & did it against better teams/competition (1986 celtics) as well.
jordan can be argued as the GOAT volume scorer.

kobe = jordan's sidekick in that regard, hence why he's ranked at the back end of the top 10, and in some lists, out of the top 10 all together.

    trust me on this.
