Question Who is the most average player in the NBA?

This question rarely gets asked (probably for good reasons), but it's interesting nonetheless.

    Yes, you're right.

On the topic: I think the league average for PER is supposed to be 15? By that metric, the 2 closest players are Jonas Jerebko (15.02), Jamal Crawford (15.04), and Enes Kanter (14.95).
But I don't really know if PER is the best way to go about his.

    What about Matt Barnes?

As a Lakers fan, that's the exact same player that came to mind.

You would probably determine this by averaging out every stat(ppg, apg, mpg, etc), then averaging out weight, height, and age.

I suppose you could also get the averages of all made up stats(per and so forth) and include that.

Then from that you get the player that is closest to all those averages.

I'm far too lazy to do that, but that's probably the most effective process to determine the most average player.

Caron Butler? He's better but he still feels so average in every possible way to me.

You'd probably want median because most players are trash but the average is pulled up by super stars. Like if Bill Gates walks into the room the average net worth is suddenly 40 billion.

If most players are trash, the average is pulled down. A really good PER is like 25, the handful of superstars aren't enough to bring up the hundreds of scrubs.
