The talent disparity between the two is so narrow at this point it's absurd to make Whoever>>>>>> Other guy, threads*. Dwight has been fantastic this year, and Amare is just rounding into shape. By the mid point I imagine they will both be putting up excellent numbers, and still posses their relative sizable faults.

The lame sarcasm/satire from the thread starter is just irritating, and makes me inclined to dislike a player (Dwight) that I have been incredibly impressed with so far.

*Not that its ever really informed commentary.

No way. Howard is much smarter than Amare because he exactly knows where he's most effective at - inside the paint. Too bad Amare decided to become a jump shooting big man rather than a dominant low scorer, calling an athletic big man who always settles for jumpers smart isn't a rational human being's thing.

Howard is better than Amare and it's not close. There's no way the Magic would trade Howard for Amare, but the Suns would part ways with Barbosa in a heartbeat if he has to be thrown in to get Howard for Amare.

I used to think Dwight was superior to Amare.. until last night.

Those sick blocks (one of which was NASTY at dwight) made me think differently about amare's defense. Now Dwight has only a slight edge over amare just cause of his power.

People forget that Amare averages 19 points, over 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots a game in 28 minutes. Outstanding.
yeah.... outstanding. imagine if he played more minutes. he'd probably get more points and rebounds and blocks.

too bad he doesn't play more minutes, or that'd be relevant.

better? who knows
more valuable? definetly dwight

when amare didnt play the suns made it to the conference finals anyways, when he did play they got eliminated in the 2nd round, now you can attribute that to the spurs or not but i think dwights way more important to the magic than amare is to the suns, not to say amare isnt important

second what does one game prove? he had 6 blocks and one poster claimed its already vaulted amare up to right behind dwight because of that one game... again, one game?!

Dwight >> Amare
Magic:< Suns

I haven't read a legitimate argument to say otherwise

no contest Dwight. Amare's a sissy. If Amare isnt hitting his short jumpers Dwight would dominate him every game. I used to not believe the hype but hes a monster this year, he looks so much bigger than everyone in the paint.

You are using team records as an excuse that DH is wining with lesser teammates and the true is Magic vs Good Teams. DET-SUNS-SPURS-CELTS so far are 1-4 and vs average and mediocre teams 13-0

He is putting great numbers but does help the teams win. Good team have found out that letting DH go wild but keeping his teammates in check give them a chance to beat the Magic.

I remember all the ppl that said that Amare a beast vs the Spurs but in the end the Spurs won because the way to beat the Suns is limit them to a low amount of 3s because they will let you score at the other end.

DH is a beast but don't use the Magic record to compare him to Amare. Thats why I used the East, West to help you remember that Eastern records are a little bit inflated.
