Default Absolutely amazing Jordan vids...

Great new Jordan videos from the youtube user "joleroke." So now you have him, hoopsencyclopedia, and a few others who regularly put up classic Jordan stuff. Here's the link to his video page. Seriously, watch any of those videos and you'll be amazed -- he basically compiles many of Jordan's made baskets during each playoff series.

The pre-retirement stuff ('91-'93) is especially awesome, but really every video deserves to be watched by anyone who didn't get to see prime Jordan. Tons of rare footage on here. The most impressive thing to note (aside from the skill, creativity, and peerless athleticism) is how definitive all his movements are and how quickly he reads defenses (where doubles/traps are coming from, how the weight/momentum of the defenders are shifted, who's out of position and how best to attack them etc.). Just amazing. That ability, to that degree, is something I've never seen from another player.

Bump for the day crowd. Seriously, anyone who didn't get a chance to watch prime Jordan should watch these videos -- every single one of them is great.

Which one do you think is the number one best that he has?

Just watch any of the longer ones -- '92/'93 vs. NY, '92/'93 vs. Cleveland, '93 vs. Suns (all pre-retirement); '95 vs Orlando and '95 vs. Charlotte (after a 21 month layoff, mind you); the "Random" video. They're just all amazing, really. Just pick one.

An interesting thing to note was the lack of And1's or foul calling in a lot of the plays that would of been called an And1 or a foul in this era. No one was even complaining, not even MJ. It really shows the difference, both in how the game was officiated and the players' mentality and opinion of what is a foul. I wouldn't be suprise if Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls could average fifthteen to eighteen legitimate free throw attempts a game in today's National Basketball Association, and that's nearly twice his career average.

That was some great stuff.

It also reminded me of watching Kobe Bryant.

He looks amazingly quick and explosive in those '95 playoff series' against Hornets and Magic. Probably has a lot to do with the lack of wear and tear of a full season. I don't remember him ever looking that athletic during the playoffs of the 2nd 3peat.

He wasn't. Some of that has to do with another year of age (every year you age in your thirties is a big deal for an athlete), and some has to do, as you said, with less wear and tear.

That was a taste of prime Jordan, though. People should watch the pre-retirement videos, though there are a lot of amazing plays on all of them. The way he nearly breaks Nick Anderson's knees at 3:14 in the Orlando video is priceless. Also how he dunks on Shaq; if you watch closely, you can see Shaq start to jump but then just resign himself to getting dunked on once he realizes that Jordan got up in the air too fast.
