Ingles is not the team’s best perimeter defender, nor its best rebounder and not its best passer. He doesn’t use a ton of possessions (his 18.8 percent usage rate this season is a career-high) and he doesn’t even really have the ball in his hands all that often — among the 292 players who have played at least 100 minutes this season, Ingles ranks 105th in time of possession percentage, meaning the ball is in his hands about as often as it’s in those of, say, Andre Iguodala.
Arguably their best passer
I'd say he's one of the top 4 players on the team for the 3rd straight year. 1-Gobert, 2-Crowder and then Mitchell and Ingles not necessarily in that order this year

Word is the Wolves did try to engage Washington — another team falling well short of expectations — in trade talks for the sharpshooting guard Bradley Beal. But the Wizards have kept Beal off limits amid their 4-9 start. They would naturally prefer to trade the struggling Otto Porter, or perhaps even John Wall, but both possess hard-to-move contracts. My pal Zach Lowe at ESPN recently did a deep dive on just how hard Wall will be to trade once his “supermax” contract extension kicks in next season. – via New York Times
Rubio, Exum, Favors for Porter and Wall somewhere else? 3rd team?

This guy is clearly due some good luck, and the Jazz could definitely use him for point guard depth. He’s a nice player to have when, say, Ricky Rubio goes 3-for-11 and fouls out with just two assists (as he did against the Memphis Grizzlies)…or when Dante Exum gets pulled for the night after an embarrassing 2:37 against the Boston Celtics.
and he still wouldn't have played. Doesn't have enough length
Despite the litany of problems he had last year, he still put up 4.5 points per game in limited action and was a 40-percent 3-point shooter. Moreover, the Jazz rocked the opposition when Neto played; his net rating of 10.2 was the highest on the squad among rotation regulars.
They were certainly a lot better early last year when he was on the floor instead of Rubio
He should replace Allen on the 13 dressed players though. Send Allen to the G-league and get him ready to help later in the year
